Dryads are tied closely to their forest homes and especially their bonded tree. If their home is damaged they are hurt along with it. Being unable to leave their range means they can't escape disaster. Her counterpart, an animal spirit ran into the burning forest to do anything he could to help but was to late to stop the raging inferno burning the dryads home to ashes, and with it her life.
